Our Sundays at the Park begin

Tino started playing soccer a couple of Sundays ago, but we had not made it to any of his games because it had not been warm enough. We are getting there, so this Sunday, we had to go.

Aracely and Carlos were thrilled with the idea of going to the park. Despite the fact that we woke them up at 6AM for church.

They can never go pass a dandylion without cutting it.

p.s. Tinos team lost 1-2 and on top of that, their coach quit on them.

RETREAT.

I was honored to be chosen as Brendas madrina for her confirmation. As a result of that, we had to attend a retreat today from 8:30-2:30. I am not going to lie, I was not too thrilled about it. I almost thought of it as going to work. It was everything but work. I had never been to one, and I am happy to say that I hope it’s not my last.

Father Javier had a lot of things to say that made me wonder. He talked to everyone; teenagers, parents and padrinos. And everything he said made sense.

I always said that the reason I didn’t go on to college was because my parents could not afford it. But if I would of made the sacrifice and pay for my own school, maybe now I’d have a certificate or a degree to be proud of. I’ve been working on going back to school. I just took a test a couple of weeks ago, and there are a couple of subjects I need to brush up on before I can sign up for college. I am working on it ;)

There was another man that spoke wonderfully. One thing he talked about was how some people don’t like to see us shine.

I know there are some people that don’t like to see me shine.

I don’t shine as much as I would like to, but I am working on it. I am not going to let these people intimidate me or stop me from accomplishing my goals. I have a lot of polishing to do, for my sake and the sake of my family.

They both talked about drugs, sex, and child abuse. As a parent, these subjects really hit me hard. I want the best for my children and I hope that with the help of God, I will lead my kids thru the right path.

Carlos...always ready for a picture

Everytime I pull out my camera, Carlos is ready for a picture.

Even while we are driving.

He is so fotogenic.

It's amazing how time has flown by. Carlitos will be 2 next month. However, he is still my sweet baby.

I LOVE...

-how he sometimes wants to cuddle.
-how he puts his little lips up when I ask him for a kiss.
-how he takes a couple of steps back before kicking a ball (and sometimes misses).
-how he calls his sis....Ately.
-his silly little faces...anything to make us laugh.
I will love when he no longer wears diapers !

GOAL: potty train Carlitos!!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do !

Carlos always wants to do what Aracely does and vice versa.

I've always said they have a love&hate relationship, and I have a feeling it's always going to be like that. I hope that thru the years it leans more towards a love relationship, and that you are always there for eachother.

p.s. we went to the lake today, no pictures because there was no time for any. They had a checkpoint when we got there and I got a ticket for my windows being too dark. Stupid checkpoints. Five years driving our truck like that and never had a problem. To make matters worse, we didn't stay at the lake for very long because it started rainning. Stupid rain !

Five years

and he still gives me butterflies.

Happy Anniversary Babe. You say it doesn't feel like it's been five years, and I think you are right. It's been the best five years of my life. Thank you for everything you do and don't do.

Love,

Your Wifey
xoxoxoxoxo

p.s. to celebrate, we went here

The food was yummylicious...

I think Carlitos agrees with me.

Family Portrait

(You can click on the title to watch the video)
I first heard this song the other day that I was watching a special report on Pink. I had heard about her, but had not paid attention to her music until I heard the lyrics to Family Portrait. It seriously gave me chills, and it also reminded me of how lucky I have been to have the family I have.

and the driving begins

We don't want to leave but we have to. I wish we all lived closer, or that those magical powers that Arcie and I sometimes talk about really did exist (sigh).

California,
that's it for now. You were loads of fun, I am happy to say that you never disappoint me. That's why I keep coming back =)

We stopped at Vegas to visit dad's sister, my tia Lola. I fell in love with her house. Soooo pretty !

Anyway, here she is with el Abuelo and Dad.

Family Times

Last time we visited Chencho and Arcie, I noticed their "work of art" on the sidewalk and really liked it. This time, I had to take a picture. There is something about my last name that I really like. Must be the authenticity of it. Lots of people can’t spell it right let alone pronounce it correctly. It’s [mar-cial], not Marshall or Mariscal. Get it right people !

Meño, Josue, Lupe, El Abuelo, Dad, Chencho, Andres and Tavo.

Four Generations

Four Generations

Dad's brothers, my uncle Jose and his family came down to visit. I am sure he wanted el Abuelo to stay, but he belongs to Dad until further notice =)

We chilled in the back yard after some good carne asada. It's nice to just kick back and relax with the people you miss and care about so much.

Here I am with three of my four brothers. Lupe, Chencho and Tavo.

And here with two of my cuñis. Eli and Arcie.

Josue, Andres and Meño. My three nephews. Arent they handsome?

My niece Emily and I.

and last but not least, I could not go without taking a picture with the love of my life.

Water Time

It seems like I keep repeating the same thing over and over....it's HOT. But really it is. We found a way to get cooled down. It was so refreshing and tons of fun.

JACK IN THE BOX

Every time we go to California, all we eat is Pollo Loco and Jack in the Box. We ate Pollo Loco the first day we got here. I must of forgotten my camera that day.

Baby, stop playing with your food.

After our lunch, we drove around looking for a Liquor store. We had a request for some type of beer that is not sold in Utah. Anyway, we also were looking for a place to refill our coolant. The air coditioner in our car didnt' seem to cool us down. Apperently, it takes an entire day to do that. Go figure. Needless to say, we didn't get it done. Time is too precious while in California to spend it at a goodyear !

Another 2 First Communions

So Tino is officially Andres' Nino Tino...LOL

I didn't get to go to church. I figured, why go if Aracely and Carlos are not going to behave. Sorry I missed it Andres.

So after church and a great lunch prepared by Arcie's mom [gracias señora], we drove to L.A.

Our first stop, Hercules. This hamburger joint used to be our favorite. That is until we moved to Utah and came across Crown Burgers, Astro Burgers, Apollo Burgers and Trainning Table.

Our original destination was the Market Place, better known as Plaza Mexico. Once there we got to park next to this van. Awesome huh? I could not help but take a picture. I strongly agree....GO LAKERS !!!

Alot of changes have gone down at the Market Place, or excuse me, Plaza Mexico. For example, this cool fountain.

Ok you may not get to see the whole thing, but don't Aracely and Carlos look so darling in this picture?

and this one....

oh and also this one.

So many new things, pretty darn cute things. I could not help but stop and have a picture taken with Aracely. Carlos was too excited with everything around him that he didn't want to stop for a picture.

After a long walk and a little shopping at Plaza Mexico, we headed to Arcie's moms house. On our way there as we were driving through Watts {my hometown}, we noticed a car had ran into a house. Yes, it was there sitting on the yard, with the doors opened and no one in sight. It didn't take long before a bunch of police cars starting heading over there. Like six cop cars drove pass us, and seconds later a helicopter joined them for the hunt.

I was reminded of why I moved to Utah. I want a better way of life for my Family. I don't want to be awakened by the sound of sirens or a helicopter flying over my home.

I want to live in peace.

Meanwhile and since we were already there, I asked Tino to please stop at the Watts Towers. I've been wanting a picture of them for a long time, and this time, I was able to take it.

Isn't it a beatiful sight?

p.s. Why 2 First Communions you may ask? Well, besides Andres, Brenda also made her First Communion. I'll upload a picture as soon as they give me one. If they do :)

Soooo HOT !!!

I love this picture of Mom and Dad. Arcie was capturing this kodak moment at Cesar's house. I could not help but snap one for me.

p.s. We paid a quick visit to Cesar and his family. Thousand Palms is so HOT !!! and it's not even summer yet. How can people live there?

The reason for our visit being so short, we had rehearsal at church for Andres' First Communion. Well, not all of us. Just Chencho, Tino and Andres. This is where it all went down.

I had to step outside because of my little devils. They have a mind of their own and no matter how many times I asked them or how I asked to please be quiet, nothing seemed to work. We stepped outside and it didn't take long before they could find something to do. They ran, they jumped, they sang, they held hands and they found a tree to climb. My goodness, these kiddos have tons of energy.

(song) I am going back to Cali, Cali, Cali.....

The main reason for our trip to California is Andres' First Communion. Tino is going to be his padrino.

I am so looking forward to our short trip. It's such a long drive for such a short trip, but totally worth it.

p.s.
Dear California (sigh),
Sometimes I miss you so much. I can't helpt but wonder what life would be like if you and I were still together. Could of, should of, would of, but didn't !!! Regardless, you and I have a lot of memories. You are always going to hold a special place in my heart. I [heart] you.

Because of you, I am a mother...

Because of you, I've learned patience.
Because of you, I've learned the value of silence.

Because of you, I have reasons to smile everyday.
Because of you, I play, blow bubbles, and watch cartoons.

Because of you, I know the purest form of LOVE.
Because of you, I am a mother.

We spent mothers day at my uncle Javier's house. I am still not sure if we gathered there to celebrate Mother's Day or because a year ago, my grandmother (dad's mom) passed away. After the food, drinks, and dessert, we prayed a rosary for her. I can't say it hurts, because it doesn't. I feel very bad for dad because I am sure he is hurting. I am not heartless, I promise. I have a ton of reasons to justify the way I feel, but that's a whole different story that I don't feel like getting into.

Perica......yo no soy perica !

Mom says Aracely talks more and more each day. She even calls her a perica, to which Aracely replies, "Yo no soy perica".

Not only does she talk more, but I can actually understand what she says now. I no longer have to play the guessing game with her. Today while we were driving home from mom's house, we had an interesting and funny conversation.

Aracely: Mami, yo me llamo Tinkerbell.
Me: Oh si, y yo como me llamo?
Aracely: Princess.
Me: y papi?
Aracely: ummm.....Spiderman.
Me: Y Carlitos?
Aracely: (pause) Shrek.

I could not stop laughing. What a silly girl !!!

(2) TOO COOL DUDES

What can I say....I've been blessed with these two good looking young men. Aracely along with Carlos and Tino complete me. I can't imagine my life without any of them. I thank God and I cherish everyday I get to spend with them. They bring out the best in me and they are all I need to be happy.

p.s. everytime I say "I love you" to Carlitos he replies, "I love you too" (in his adorable baby talk)

ALGUN PINCHE PROBLEMA ???

So Tino and I went to see Diana Reyes and Los Inquietos yesterday. I am not all that into duranguense music, but I really like how Diana sings. I enjoyed watching her sing a couple of songs. She is awesome !!! Then came Inquietos, I am also not much of a fan of their music, but their show.....WOWWWW...was amazing. Those boys have energy =) They kept jumping up and down and drinking off of a bottle of whiskey. They made it seem like so much fun, that I was ready to join them :) (just kidding baby)

p.s. Excuse the title of this post, but that is what Inquietos kept saying through out the night. For some reason, it was funny to me everytime they said it.

Here we are listening to Rieleros (listening to one or two of their songs was more than enough) You may be asking yourself, then what type of spanish music does this girl like? I LOVE banda. So PAISA....I know. But thats what I like :)

Some really hot chick must of been walking by. Look at my babies eyes go ! LOL

p.s.s. Today is my cuñis' Birthday. (HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTHA !!!)

First Communion

Tino was invited to be Cristians padrino for his First Communion.

p.s. I learned my lesson at church. If I would of known that church was going to last 2 hours in a hot/stuffy hall, I would not have dared to go. Aracely and Carlos behaved for the first hour or so. I don't blame them, it was awful.

This is Aracely holding the newest member of the family. With great pleasure I present to you Saul Berumen. What a cutie huh?

p.s. If you are asking what that is on Aracely's forehead. Ask Carlitos, he will even show you which hand he used to throw the rock at Aracely. (bad boy)

And here I am holding little Saul.
